Lean Training
Lean Training
The Huthwaite Innovation Institute offers Lean Training covering Implementation through the Lean Conversion process. Each training program is uniquely tailored to the individual client, in order to receive the maximum benefit from training.
Lean Overview
The Principles of Lean Manufacturing are discussed. A practical hands-on approach is stressed using easy-to-understand examples and case studies of similar applications. A detailed understanding of waste and other lean concepts are also covered. Examples are used to show the overall impact of Lean benefits on Work-in-Process and Cycle Time.
Lean Drivers
A detailed development of the key elements driving Lean Manufacturing are covered. Attendees will understand where the main impact for driving a successful lean program and key contributors to waste on the production floor. Real world examples of our past clients, where waste and value add was identified will be used. A plan for identifying and eliminating non-value added elements are reviewed in a team structure.
Inventory
Using Visual Triggers identified in previous training sessions, Demand Flow and Kanban systems will be discussed in detail. A full understanding of internal and external Kanbans, their effect on inventory reduction and detailed instructions on interfacing with MRP systems are presented within this session. This session promotes true inventory management and customer management, focusing on making product to customer order vs. batch and queue techniques.
Setup Reduction
For companies operating in the machining and batch environments, a Setup Reduction Program is critical in reducing lot size and cutting inventory. The principles of Setup Reduction and Single Minute Exchange of Dies (SMED) using the Shingo method will be reviewed. A change over process improvement program will be presented using examples from past clients.
